Current Mood: Annoyed

I have the kid who doesn't sleep. I hear from other moms whose children are close in age to Brandt and they tell stories of their children sleeping from 7pm - 6:30am, plus they take a 3 hour afternoon nap. THREE HOURS!!!! Something must be wrong with my kid.

This is my past 24 hours:
7:30pm - bedtime
5:45am- I hear him stir
6:20am - I get up
8:15am - Movers & Shakers
9:15am - Go to the mall for more running around in play area
10:00 - Stop at Ulta at the mall, Mommy needs mascara
10:15am - I look down and see he has fallen asleep (CRAP! CRAP! CRAP!!)
10:20am - transfer sleeping baby to car seat
10:35am - transfer sleeping baby to stroller
10:45am - force sleeping baby to wake up because we have swimming lessons
11am - 11:30am - swim
11:40am - feed him banana in car
Noon - unload baby and 4 bags of crap from car
12:15pm - feed baby more lunch
12:30pm - put down for his afternoon nap and pray
1pm - get wide-awake baby out of crib ... an afternoon nap is not in his plans since he took that little unscheduled catnap earlier
1:15pm - Mommy writes a bitter blog about how my kid refuses to sleep longer than 10 hours at night and refuses to sleep for longer than 1.5 hours during the day

I'm so annoyed right now. I tried to wake him up when he fell asleep this morning and I tried to keep him awake - he wasn't having any part of it.

I've been trying to transition him to one nap a day, since if he sleeps at all (even if it's only 25 minutes) in the morning he NEVER EVER (I know, I've tried) sleeps in the afternoon. On two occassions I was desperate for him to sleep so I drove around with him in the late afternoon, only to have him fall asleep at 4pm. Wonderful.

ARGH!!! To those of you with kids who sleep, ARGH!!! That's all I have to say.

My child sleeps, but she is the exact same as Brandt, if she has one ounce of a morning nap, there is no afternoon nap now, and it is only an hour/hour and a half afternoon nap, the three hour nappers mystify me!

Actually, maybe he should just take the morning nap and not the afternoon nap? JD was taking a 10AM nap for awhile (about an hour and a half) and not the afternoon nap, and was sleeping 10 to 12 hours a night. Her one nap has transitioned to 1PM during the days and 11AM on weekends, but it's still one earlier nap. It's worth a try!

C is still getting up at 5:30 every day. Sweet.

I can't complain about his naps anymore, but I can sympathize. He used to be just like that.
